Jhirna Jeep Safari

Jhirna is one of the last added and popular zones of Corbett national park. It was formed by including farming lands of Jhirna and other nearby villages into the reserve territory. The best time to visit it is from October to June end. This zone, situated at the southern edge of Corbett tiger reserve boasts of a large number of wild animals. It is also preferred by avid birdwatchers as a large variety of elusive birds can be seen here. It is located 16 km from Ramnagar city and entry into this zone is through Dhela gate. Safaris are organized throughout the year in this zone, however, advance booking is not allowed during the monsoon season (July to September)

The Garial forest lodge is lodged deep into the Dhikala zone and is located 13 km from the gate (approximately 40 km from Ramnagar city). It offers a breath-taking view of the banks of Ramganga River. This presents a unique opportunity to see wild animals coming to the bank for either in search of water or a prey. One can easily observe a herd of elephants drinking, bathing or playing in the river water. It is also home to many birds and is a treat for avid birdwatchers.

Though deep inside the jungle, precautions are taken to ensure the safety of the tourists. The compound of Garial forest lodge is protected by solar electric wire which prevents the entry of wild animals inside the premises. Tourists can also see the Corbett museum which is on the way from the entry gate to the FRH.
